From the Barossa to Cambodia

This week we are hosting a young lady, Abbie von Bertouch, who will be volunteering with the Australian organisation RAW Impact. Abbie will be travelling to Cambodia to help relocate families who reside in the slums to safe housing. These families will also learn farming skills and their children will be able to go to school.

Abbie has been raising money in various ways, and one way has been selling bliss/protein balls in the lunch room whilst working as a vintage cellar hand. Abbie will be selling her bliss/protein balls this Saturday (11th June) All money raised goes towards helping families in Cambodia have better housing, life skills and education for their children.

Last weekend the Farmers Market hosted a Variety Children’s Club Bash Car ‘Thunderbird 2’. This is the 2nd year that Darren and crew will be participating in the Variety SA Bash. Les Brazier Special Vehicles built the donated car over a 6 month period and with 500 hours of voluntary labour.

Variety South Australia is part of a volunteer based international children’s charity, known as the “heart of show business”, that raises money for children who are sick, disadvantaged or have special needs.  The money raised in this State, is spent on the children in our State.

Darren and Crew raised over $400 last Saturday.

Steinys Seriously Long Mettwurst was won by Wayne
Market Membership was won by Krys
Both winners were contacted on Saturday after the draw by Darren. Please contact the Market to claim your prizes.

If you can assist, and any amount will, please visit the Variety Donation page

In the “Comments” section of the donation form, please put “Bash Car 2”

If you missed out on seeing this fabulous vehicle, Thunderbird2 will be joining us again on the 16th July before they head off on their Bash in August
